Entrance gates are available in 2 main types, Driveway and Pedestrian, the style and choice of each are only restricted by size,

As with all of our products your new entrance gates are hand made using traditional and extremely strong mortice and tennon joints glued and fixed with hand cut hardwood dowels

Driveway Gates are normally made as a pair large enough to allow access for vehicles and although we have made some patterns of driveway gates upto 12feet wide per leaf (24foot total opening), we try not to exceed 8feet per leaf (16foot opening) for some designs

Pedestrian gates can range from a simple cottage garden style picket gate 3foot wide by 3foot high to solid side entrance doors upto 4feet wide and 8feet tall, the choices are endless,

Both types are available in either Hardwood or Pressure Treated Softwood sourced from sustainable woodlands and where possible FSC certificated,

Due to the constantly changing price of hardwoods we normally try to get prices from at least 2 suppliers to offer the best prices available at the time,

Hardwood gates are manufactured in either Iroko or Sapele,

both good versatile, durable and weather resistant species capable of giving a long life outdoors at a sensible price,

Softwood used are mainly a mixture of European Redwood and Whitewood imported from Sweden or the Baltic,

As with all our work we offer a total "Made to measure & fitting service" this means we will visit your site and take all the required measurements to insure your new gates fit correctly,

We will supply and fit any catches, hinges and posts required as well as hang the finished gates, therefore removing the worry of you giving the wrong measurements or information to a manufacturer who will then charge you even if the gates don't fit.

It is possible to buy some so called "hand made gates" off the shelf/internet,

We do not think "handling" a piece of wood into a CNC woodworking machine costing sometimes upto hundreds of thousands of pounds and then "handling" a finish gate out the other end can be classed as "hand made"

these off the shelf gates are normally available in standard sizes, the trouble then is when it arrives you have to start adding bits on or cut bits off to make them fit your opening,

We offer traditional "hand made" bespoke and made to measure gates to your requirements and sized to fit your opening, we can even get hinges and other ironwork specially made to enhance and strengthen your new gates
